A visual and interactive way to explore classical music history.

AboutMusic.app is a web project dedicated to making classical music history easier to explore, understand, and enjoy. The idea behind the platform is simple: instead of presenting composers and musical eras as disconnected facts, AboutMusic.app brings them together in a visual, interactive timeline that shows how classical music developed across time.

At the core of the project is the Composers Timeline: an interactive view of major classical composers and the periods they belong to, including Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th-century music. This format helps visitors see relationships between composers, overlapping lifespans, and the broader historical flow of Western classical music in a much more intuitive way than a traditional article or static list.

The platform features a curated selection of well-known composers, including Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frideric Handel, Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Frederic Chopin, Giuseppe Verdi, Richard Wagner, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Sergei Prokofiev, and Dmitri Shostakovich, among others. By combining chronology, composer profiles, and audio-oriented features, the project is designed both for curious beginners and for listeners who want a clearer overview of the classical tradition.

Beyond the timeline itself, AboutMusic.app includes additional sections such as Radio, Quiz, and About, which extend the experience from simple browsing to listening and learning. The project is available in English, German, and Russian, making it accessible to a broader international audience interested in classical music discovery. You can open the classical music timeline website and start exploring immediately.

As a project, AboutMusic.app reflects my interest in building digital products that combine culture, education, and intuitive user experience. My goal was to create a website that helps people navigate classical music more naturally - not as a closed academic subject, but as a living artistic tradition that can be explored visually, chronologically, and interactively. Visit AboutMusic classical composers timeline to see the full experience.
